Giorgio Afferni, Managing Partner of Delex Law Firm, was invited to participate to the conference on Third Party Litigation Funding (TPLF) organized by the University of Roma Tre in Rome on the 13th of September 2024 in view of the presentation of the report of the European Law Institute (ELI) on TPLF in the EU. Giorgio, who is the coordinator of the Special Interest Group of ELI on competition law, spoke of the assignment of claim as an aggregation device of multiple claims alternative to class action and as a mean of litigation funding, making clear that such a model of claim aggregation should be contemplated in all future regulation of TPLF in the EU. At the same conference, organized by professors Maria Cecilia Paglietti and Cristina Poncibò, partcipated among others Anthony J. Sebok of Cardoso Law School, Hans-Wolfang Micklitz of the European University Institute, Peter Rott of the University of Oldenburg, Elena D’Alessandro of the University of Turin, and Francesco Paolo Patti of Bocconi University. The conclusion were made by Sara Cockerill, judge at the High Court of England and Wales.
